Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge

Have you heard about SyFy’s new show: “Jim Henson’s CreatureShop Challenge”? Imagine “Project Runway,” but for puppets!

Hosted by Gigi Edgley (from Farscape) and Brian Henson, ten builders compete for a position at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. And these aren’t your typical hokey-pokey muppet-style puppets, neither! Think more creature (as the title suggests)– Star Wars, Alien, Where the Wild Things Are, etc.

“Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge” is a great way to see how puppets are conceptualized and constructed, as well as some of the performance aspects. Even if you’re not a big fan of reality shows, this is one you should give a whirl!
